Ricardo Dourado Freire is a Professor at the University of Brasília (UnB), specializing in Clarinet and Music Theory. He has published over 150 scientific articles in journals and at national and international conferences, covering fields such as Musical Performance, Popular Music, Early Childhood Music Education, and Music Cognition. He holds a Doctorate (2000) and a Master’s degree (1994) in Clarinet Performance from Michigan State University, where he studied under the supervision of clarinetist Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr. He also earned his Bachelor’s degree (1991) from the University of Brasília, in the class of Professor Luiz Gonzaga Carneiro. An active participant in the international clarinet community, he has performed in clarinet events in numerous countries, including Argentina, Bulgaria, China, Colombia, France, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Turkey, the United States, and Venezuela.
